Marriage Preparation Sessions

Please contact the parish where you want to be married and ask to meet with the priest or deacon to begin the marriage preparation process. AFTER completing your initial meetings with the priest or deacon preparing you for matrimony, we welcome you to participate in Marriage Preparation sessions. Currently, we offer Marriage Preparation sessions online, as well as in-person. More in-person sessions continue to be added as additional Marriage Preparation Teams are formed in our parishes. Those sessions are noted as IN PERSON.
Marriage Preparation sessions are held in two parts: Life Skills AND God's Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage (God's Plan for short). BOTH ARE REQUIRED SESSIONS in the Archdiocese of Newark.
Beginning April 1, 2026, the fee for each session is $125 and includes materials, online or virtual session, and one completion certificate. Sessions can be taken in either order.
REMINDER, you can register for these sessions only AFTER completing your initial meetings with the priest or deacon preparing you for matrimony.
Confirmation emails will be sent acknowledging registration and payment. Follow up emails will be sent regarding virtual login information, as well as online access to resource materials which supplement the virtual sessions.
Roughly 7 days prior to your session date, you will receive information to access content materials online to complete at your own pace.
Zoom call invites go out 1-2 days prior to the call time & date. Please note that you must use a device with a working camera and both the bride and the groom must be visible on screen for the entire session. If both fail to be visible on screen for the session, a certificate of completion will not be issued.
Currently, we offer in-person and virtual Life Skills sessions and virtual God's Plan sessions.
Please note, any cancellations seeking a refund will be processed minus administrative, programming and credit card processing fees. Cancellation requests within 7 days of a session will not be refunded. No shows, day of cancellation requests and requests to cancel after a session date has passed will not be refunded.
